OWNER - HAL QUAYLE

Hal Quayle - Owner/President Hal Quayle, the owner and President of Quayle & Company, built his career upon a love of both plants and design. His appreciation for plants started early. During the 1970's, Hal managed the Serios Produce Market and Nursery on Rockville Pike. While managing this small, family-owned market, he found himself fascinated by the variety of plants available. Hal set about learning as much as he could about the plants, from their ideal conditions to the species' Latin names. It was during this time at Serios that Hal decided to make a career of working with plants.

Hal's passion for design was discovered while visiting friends at West Virginia University, one of whom was studying landscape architecture. One glance at his friend's coursework and Hal was immediately hooked. In 1981, Hal graduated from WVU with a degree in Landscape Architecture. Following graduation, he gained in the field experience as a designer and project manager for several companies, working with a variety of clients.

In 1989, with years of experience under his belt, and a passion for landscape architecture that was stronger than ever, Hal struck out on his own to pursue his dream. Today, he continues to enjoy his work creating distinctive spaces to match each client's dream.
